Legal Considerations for Short-Term Rentals: Airbnb and Beyond
For years, Connecticut took a largely hands-off approach to short-term rentals at the state level. That began to change in 2024, when the legislature passed Public Act 24-143, a law that explicitly authorizes municipalities, by vote of their legislative bodies, to adopt local ordinances regulating the operation of short-term rental properties, including requiring their licensure.
