KATE CERRONE PARTNER
Kate Cerrone is a civil litigator and business lawyer with twenty-one years of experience. Her practice is primarily comprised of business law, real estate closings, estate planning and civil litigation. Kate handles various types of civil cases, including divorce litigation, divorce mediation, personal injury, land use and employment discrimination. Kate also does transactional work for businesses such as business filings, entity formation, commercial closings and lease negotiations.
Kate has been practicing in the Quiet Corner since she was licensed in the year 2000. She became a partner at The Northeast Law Center in 2017.
Kate’s experience includes the following matters which she argued before The Connecticut Appellate Court and The Connecticut Supreme Court:
- Represented nonprofit lessee in United Social and Mental Health Services, Inc. v. Rodowicz, 899 A.2d 85 (Connecticut Appellate Court 2006).
- Successfully defended a land use appeal on behalf of The Planning and Zoning Commission of the Town of Thompson in Thomas v. Planning & Zoning Commission of the Town of Thompson, 911 A.2d 1129 (Connecticut Appellate Court 2006).
- Successfully defended an appeal on behalf of a Limited Liability Company in dispute over a claimed prescriptive easement in Christensen v. Reed, 941 A.2d 333 (Connecticut Appellate Court 2008).
- Defended the Conservation and Inland Wetlands Commission of the Town of Putnam and successfully argued that a company’s incomplete application should not have been granted on due process grounds in Unistar Properties LLC v. Conservation & Inland Wetlands Commission of the Town of Putnam, 977 A.2d 127 (Connecticut Supreme Court 2009).
